Dr. Warr has Masters and Doctors degrees in chemistry from the University of Oxford, England. She is a Chartered Chemist, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals. She has over 35 years experience in information systems and research computing including nearly 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry. Before founding Wendy Warr & Associates in January 1992, she was Manager of Information Services for ICI Pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Warr is active in the Chemical Information Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and serves on several international scientific committees including that of the annual International Chemical Information Conference. She was Chairman of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry’s (IUPAC) Committee on Printed and Electronic Publications for six years. She has served on the Editorial Advisory Board of ACS Books, the Advisory Board of ACS Software, the ACS Committee on Copyrights, and the Publications Committee of the Society of Chemical Industry. She served on the Steering Committee of the MDL Software Users Group in the USA and Europe for more than ten years and was a prime mover in the first three of the three-yearly Noordwijkerhout International Conferences on Chemical Structures sponsored by ACS, the Chemical Structure Association (CSA) and other chemical societies
She has been involved with the Chemical Notation (later Structure) Association (CSA) since its inception and is a Trustee of the CSA Trust. She has been an Editor of the ACS Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling (formerly Journal of Chemical Information and Computer Sciences) since 1989. She has written or edited nine books and has over 60 publications to her credit.
