Peter Rusch received his Ph.D. in Physical- Inorganic Chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. After post-doctoral research in France and the U.S. he joined the Chemical Abstracts Service division of the American Chemical Society. He was an Information Scientist working with the emerging online services to add CAS databases to their offerings.
He then moved to Lockheed Information Systems, that later became DIALOG Information Services, where he worked for almost twenty years. During that time he lead the development of chemical and patent information products and services. He was also responsible for product development and marketing of scientific and technical databases offered thorough the DIALOG Information Retrieval Service. As a member of the senior management staff his other activities included government affairs as a representative to an industry group working with the USPTO to set information policy and research activities directed at improving information access, analysis and distribution.
In addition to his consulting activities, he travels widely making presentations, attending professional meetings and visiting clients worldwide. He has numerous publications on both chemical and information topics. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, an Associate Member of the Society of the Sigma Xi, a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemists and a Trustee of the Chemical Structure Association Trust.
